An old and labor intensive technique brought to the public in VR.
This simulation was developed for Motz GmbH, a company in the south of Germany that still produces medical instruments with giant forge hammers. The VR application allows users to virtually practice the first steps in the making of a steel handle. To create a true-to-life experience, we took pictures of the original equipment around a forging station and reproduced it. We recorded the sounds produced by the movements of the forge hammer and we even connected an Arduino with a relay to a small heater so the users can feel warm air when opening the virtual oven.
