BMW S 1000 RR

It’s all about speed and magic. This project is about BMW’s fastest motorcycle like you’ve never seen it before. The S 1000 RR is a master work. In its third generation, the improved performance due to highly innovative changes like the BMW ShiftCam technology cannot be understated. We developed a virtual reality application to showcase these technological advances. For starters, the motorcycle materializes in the form of a rain of parts, 4000 of them, individually animated in realtime. Once the RR reaches its final shape, users travel through its motor, magnified 500 times and animated, following the path of an air particle.

1

Technical information meets spatial experience

By leveraging virtual reality, we transformed technical information into an awe-inspiring journey, allowing users to witness the BMW ShiftCam technology in action as the motor goes through a combustion cycle in front of their eyes.

2

Effectively communicating complex innnovation

The integration of virtual reality and real-time animation turns technical information into an immersive narrative. This is a critical step for effective communication but also for creating a lasting teaching moment.

3

Multisensorial experience as key to understanding realtime processes

Engaging multiple senses through virtual reality allows users to not only see but also to feel and hear the complexity of the S 1000 RR’s innovation in all its dimensions. Processes that would typically require several diagrams to explain, like the combustion motor, were made accessible to people with little to no previous knowledge within this three minute long experience.
